About Rudie Maartens
My career started on the technical side of IT and grew into website development, digital delivery, project ownership and running my own web-development business.
Profile snapshot
I combine hands-on web development with project ownership, client understanding and commercial awareness — allowing me to take digital projects from an initial requirement through to a polished, working solution.
WordPress, front-end development, UI/UX, hosting and digital project delivery.
I turn unclear requirements and early-stage concepts into structured, usable and production-ready digital experiences.
Development experience backed by client communication, project responsibility, budgets and independent business ownership.

Over time, I discovered that the part of technology I enjoyed most was creating something from nothing. That interest developed into web development, leading digital projects, working with clients and eventually building Nexweb as my own independent digital business.
My learning has always been practical and self-directed — building, troubleshooting, improving and adapting as technologies and client requirements evolved.
Today, my work spans WordPress, front-end development, UI/UX planning, hosting, performance, AI-assisted development and digital project delivery.
I learn by building — and I build with the end result in mind.
I care about digital experiences that work in the real world — clear structure, responsive layouts, stable hosting and user journeys that make sense.
Working directly with clients and projects has taught me to think about budgets, expectations, timelines, handover, support and the pressure behind real delivery.
I continue learning by building, testing new tools, improving workflows and using modern development technology where it creates genuine value.
What I bring
My strongest work comes from combining technical execution with project ownership, client communication and the practical realities of delivering real digital projects.
WordPress, Elementor, WooCommerce and responsive front-end development focused on usable, maintainable and practical digital experiences.
Discovery, requirements, scoping, information architecture, user journeys, timelines, feedback and launch coordination.
Client conversations, quotations, commercial decisions, hosting, domains, support and long-term project relationships.
AI-assisted research, prototyping, development, testing and optimisation used to improve speed, quality and problem-solving.
Nexweb ownership
Nexweb is my own independent web-development business. Through it, I have gained practical experience across the complete lifecycle of client work: finding opportunities, speaking with clients, scoping requirements, quoting, planning, designing, building, launching, hosting, maintaining and supporting websites after launch.
That ownership experience has helped me become more commercially aware as a developer. I understand that a successful website is not only about clean implementation; it also needs clear communication, realistic timelines, stable hosting, confident handover, ongoing support and a solution that makes sense for the client's business.
Own planning, UI direction, development, responsive implementation, testing, deployment and handover.
Handle enquiries, discovery conversations, requirements, expectations and ongoing client communication.
Manage domains, hosting, DNS, SSL, email setup, migrations, backups, technical support and ongoing maintenance.
Balance budgets, timelines, priorities and practical business outcomes while keeping projects realistic and deliverable.
Founded and operate Nexweb as an independent web-development business with its own clients, projects and delivery responsibilities.
Stay involved after launch through updates, troubleshooting, optimisation and new functionality as client needs evolve.
Career journey
My career has evolved from hands-on IT support into web development, project leadership and independent digital delivery — with each stage adding greater technical depth, responsibility and ownership.
Built a strong technical foundation across Microsoft 365, networking, hardware, biometric systems and client-side troubleshooting.
Transitioned from infrastructure and IT support into website development across WordPress, hosting, DNS, front-end implementation and ongoing website maintenance.
Expanded beyond development into digital project delivery, client relationships, internal platform contribution, team leadership and broader project ownership.
Progressed into a lead development role, taking greater ownership of client and internal projects while helping establish website development as an additional service offering.
Founded and operate an independent web-development business, managing client projects from discovery and quotation through development, deployment and ongoing support.
